Joseph Chester Cempura age 73 of Springdale, was called home to be with the Lord Thursday May, 10, 2012 in Springdale. He was born August 26, 1938 in Dearborn, Michigan the son of Chester Joseph Cempura and Marie A.Teschker. He was a retired United States Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict, he also retired from the United States Postal Service in 2009. He attended Cross Church in Fayetteville, was a member of the Hawg Country Corvette Club and Northwest Arkansas Corvette Club. He loved fishing, camping, cruising around in “his toy” (Corvette), and most of all spending time with his family and getting rowdy at his granddaughter’s basketball games.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Cempura, two daughters, Ashley Miller of Farmington, Arkansas, Nonni Jones of Farmington, and a son, Joseph J. Cempura of Farmington, two sisters, Mary Lopez of Glendale, AZ and Janet Reed of San Jose, CA, a brother, Ed Cempura of Tucson, AZ, four granddaughters; Breanna Jones, Anthea Jones, Megan Miller, and Emily Miller and two faithful furry shih tzus Danny and Nadia.

Celebration service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Food and Fellowship will follow the service for friends and family at the home of Bob and Bonnie Jones. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 2:00 PM at Fayetteville National Cemetery.

The family request memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
